project closet
so, besides unpacking and organizing the house, we have been tackling our master bedroom's closet. it is a nice sized walk-in but needed some love. the paint was scuffed and dingy, the trim was the original dark wood and the previous owners had rigged up a belt holder by putting nails into a board at the back wall. i wanted to paint the walls, trim, shelves and rods and then organize it all up. i didn't get a good before picture of it empty, but here is a picture of it when we toured the house for the first time, so it has the previous owners' stuff in it:
so these are the pictures after we painted and removed the bi-fold doors. we decided the doors serve no purpose for us and it looks better without them.
the closet is not completely done yet, this is the in-progress shot. most of the clothes and things have been moved in now, but i still want to organize the clothing, shoes, accessories. so i'm on a mission for some closet organizing stuff right now. and i'm going to change out the light fixture to something more modern and fun. oh, and the color i chose is valspar's trade secret:
so, that's the progress so far until i can either get to the store or order the things that i need to finish. it's hard with the limited time i have since i am under the command of this cutie:
in the meantime, i am on to painting the closet that will soon be a pantry:
brown, woody, ugly |
nice and crisp and modern |
with the doors removed |
