Ikea coffee table hack
so awhile back one of my besties was doing some redecorating in her front living room and had been looking for a new coffee table, but was on a budget. i suggested painting her current ikea lack coffee table. but then while i was looking for ideas on Pinterest, i saw some of these coffee table hacks that i thought would be perfect. she really likes the rustic-shabby style:
i sent her the pins and she loved the look. i checked out the tutorials and it seemed like a project we could take on. so we did! except i kind of took it over cause i'm a little bossy like that , but she is pregnant and not supposed to be inhaling the fumes from sanding and staining, and she was working on another project as well. so anyway, the table was sanded, and painted, and then i picked up some white wood and stain, stained the planks using the light gray weathered looking stain. after the stain dried i sanded it a little for a more roughed up look and screwed them to the table and finished with 2 coats of polycrylic. and here is the finished product:
so the table ended up looking something like this (without the bottom shelf):
to this:
btw i used this tutorial, mostly, with a few tweaks:
