you curtain buying SOB
that's what hubby said to me when i bought and hung up some new curtains for the living room one day. hahahahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, i almost peed my pants laughing. especially since this curtain buying situation has been such a fiasco, mainly because i knew nothing about choosing and procuring curtains before buying a house. so anyway, i had been thinking about getting some different curtains for the living room, some that were more patterned and that would tie in the blue of the chairs but not compete with the rug, i talked about it in this post. so, one day a few weeks back i was walking through homegoods and some curtains caught my eye. i went over to check them out and they were perfect. i loved the larger scale flower print that is almost ombre-ish in how the flowers go from light blue to dark blue, and the fact that the blue matched my chairs perfectly was the kicker. and that the pattern wasn't too strong in contrast to the rug. and they were only $30 for both panels. dkny panels for $30 total? hell yes! so i purchased them, made sure that i could return them if i didn't like how they looked, brought them home, ripped open the package, hung those suckers up, and smiled. they add a nice little bit of color and they do tie into the blue chairs and the blue in the rug nicely. hubs came home, and after a little while, looked at the curtains and told me i was a curtain buying SOB. and then admitted that they looked way better. but then asked what i plan on doing with the other curtains that were hanging there. i will likely reuse them in another space, they are actually nice curtains. so anyway, there's the most recent chapter in the great curtain debacle. enough words, check out the pictures:
better than the previous ones, huh?
i am hoping to get a move on as far as working on sprucing up the living room a little more. namely, paint, retile around the fireplace, build a mantel, maybe mount the tv on the wall (?), and adding some shelves, pictures and art to the walls. we'll see when i can work all that in. what about ch'all? working on anything in the living room? have you had a crazy experience buying curtains, too?
