Z's list of best seller books

Z has always liked books but now, something has changed.  i can see him really paying attention to the story and what is on the pages, and he points out things on the page.  he remembers the story and will say a word or phrase in the story.  so he and i came up with a list of his faves:

Little Blue Truck

fun book about a very helpful and kind little blue truck, has a subtle moral message about helping others even when they aren't very nice

The House in the Night

the illustration in this book is fabulous, black and white with pops of yellow, and the story is almost lyrical with a nice cadence, simple and i think that is a big reason z loves this book.

Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes

again the artwork in this book is great and the story is so sweet, about diversity of children from all over.

Winter

it's very simple but z likes that there are different textures.

Go Dog Go

i think all kids love this book, dogs and cars and dog parties.

The Ear Book

different sounds that we hear, it's great.

My Big Animal Book

big pictures of different types of animals.

Blue Hat Green Hat

this is a very silly book about a turkey that doesn't wear it's clothes properly.  oops! z thinks this book is hilarious and cracks up every time we read it.

Eric Carle's ABC

this book has really great illustration and pages that include fold up or down to reveal the next letter.

I Want My Hat Back

kind of a weird book, about a bear who loses his red pointy hat, but z loves it. this review about the book does a good job of succinctly describing it:

z has more books that he likes but for now these are his favorite that made the bestseller list.
