activity corner for baby z

hey all!  i've been too busy to write a post ever since this has happened :

i am one busy mama.  anyway, a project that i would like to start, i've been thinking about it for awhile now is an activity corner for z.  i decided i would make it in the corner of the family room where i used to have a side table that held a plant and table lamp.  after z started pulling himself up on everything, having the plant and lamp there was no longer an option.  so, i have been scouring pinterest and the inter webs for ideas and so far, i think i will put up some racks to hold books, his alligator mirror, a magnetic board with some magnets, some artwork.  i will probably put some of his musical instruments and stuff in a bin, too.  i made a drawing, preliminary plans haha:

so have any of you done something like this? what kinds of things would you suggest putting in an activity area?  i'm kind of looking for Montessori style.  any ideas?  thanks!
