mr z

 some things about z lately that i want to remember:

-z is almost 15 months old

-this boy is growing so quickly; emotionally, physically and developmentally.  it's crazy.  i can see from one day to the next these changes.  he is understanding more abstract concepts.

-when things end, like a song, he claps and says, "yaaaaaay!"  he also did this when we flew recently to california.  when we landed he clapped and said yay.

-he now says gilk (milk), caaa (car), ca (cat), meow, bowl, ball, out, up, thank you, eat, toast, wawa (water), whale, crab, woody, cow, rock, hot, cold, this, that, help, hank (his giant bear), app (apple)...i'm sure he says more that i'm missing.  he also is getting better at repeating words

-he mimicks sounds that we make, like when i stretch and make my stretching noise, stuff like that

-he is finally picking up on more signs, he can sign milk, more (it's cute, when he signs for more he also says nana, apparently that's his word for more), all done.  i'm working with him on water, please and thank you.

-he pretty much eats all finger foods now, sometimes i give him pureed foods, but usually only if we are out and about or if i mix it in with some plain yogurt or warm cereal.  he eats whatever we are eating for dinner.

-the other day he said, "baba, out, out" to tell his dad that he wanted to go outside

-he is starting to dance.  he will walk over to his activity table toy and press the buttons that he knows will play a song and stand there waving his hands up and down over and over again.

-he also dances in his high chair when eating, he rocks from side to side and sings

-he tries to sing, it's adorable

-sometimes when he is trying to not fall asleep at night, he has entire babbling conversations with himself

-if i ask where his binkie is, he lifts his arms up, palms facing up, and says "ah no no" (for i don't know)

-he can run

-he is beginning to follow instructions like, "please go put this car in the basket".  and when i don't want him to get into something, like the dishwasher or the fridge, i ask him to help me close the fridge or dishwasher, and after we close it, he says, "ahhhhhhh!"

-both times that we went to california this summer, after we got home and we went into his room, he ran across the room saying, "hock, hock!!!"  that's how he says hank, which is his giant bear that sits in the corner.  so anyway he runs across the room and gives hank a big hug and kiss.  he was so so happy to see hank!
