week two of potty training

oh man.  it has been an interesting week.  this is the second week of potty training.  it seems like z is not as excited as he initially was about the whole thing.  but i think we are still progressing.  i am trying to stay calm and not get irritated, but it is really really hard.  this week i think overall we had a few less accidents, but i think z pooped in the potty more last week than this week.  i definitely had to clean poo up more this week.  he does not want to go number 2 in the potty anymore.  so i'll have to figure that out.  there were more times this week when i just asked him to go potty before lunch or after waking up or before leaving the house or whatever and he just went into the bathroom, peed in his potty chair, poured it into the toilet and flushed all by himself.  one morning he even took off his pull up and climbed up onto the toilet all by himself and peed.  another day he pretty much stayed dry and wore the same underpants the whole day.  so those were exciting steps forward.  but then he also had lots of accidents too.  we went out a lot more this week, so i think anxiety about going potty somewhere other than his own house and being distracted was to blame.  unfortunately he peed on my friend's floor, in a cake shop, and on a sidewalk in Fremont (it was kind of off the main area so at least there were not that many people around).  but man!  haha.  it's not super fun.  and he doesn't seem to be bothered by being wet.  so.  i'm trying to just stay cool, and remind myself that there will be lots of accidents before he gets it and is fully trained.
