oh my goodness. i recently realized that i should start thinking about this baby's first birthday. booohoooo. she is going to be one year old in two months. it is amazing how quickly this last year went by. she is more and more like a little person in the house now. and i mean little, she is still so petite. but she has a big personality. and a big voice, haha. i feel like this month everything is pretty much the same as last, except that she can crawl faster and walk with her little push toy better. she is also cruising pretty well, holding onto furniture and walking around. she doesn't really say words yet except she babbles mamammmamaa. oh, she started clapping and dancing a little bit. it's the cutest. she also plays peek a boo and loves playing chase and peek a boo with Z. when they play like that together they both squeal with laughter and they sound exactly the same. she seems very clingy to me lately and is wary of strangers. her sleep is better, we went through a week or so of bad sleeping because she had a little cold. but we did the sleep training and now we can basically just put her in her crib and she falls asleep. it is the best. she typically wakes up once or twice a night to nurse. if there's something going on, then she wakes up a bunch, like last night, i think she was really gassy. she really loves cats and dogs. when she sees the neighbor cat she makes this high pitch "eh" noise. and then she squeals. it's adorbs. i took her to the 9 month appointment and she is still little; 20th percentile for height and 14th or so for weight. she got her flu shot and only cried for about 5 seconds, but Z was there and hugged her and said "you did good baby sister, you're ok" and she was distracted and comforted. love it! she pretty much eats everything now, except honey of course and cow's milk, but whatever we are eating for dinner, i just cut up into small pieces for her and she feeds herself. she is doing great with that. she did recently spit out egg though when i fed it to her the past two times, so she may take after her brother and be a non-egg eater. we'll see. we still always offer it to Z and he strongly refuses. he doesn't even want to smell eggs cooking or anything. it's kinda funny. anyway, little miss A is very stubborn these days; she will not stay still to change her diaper or clothes, if you take something from her hand she freaks out, screaming and complaining, she is very vocal about her rights, haha.

-feeding: still nursing lots, although i have been having some pain and bleeding on one side, i'm sure because this baby is using her teeth, gaaaahhhhh! she seems to be in this phase of frequent nursing. she is also eating solids, finger foods. she will no longer eat pureed food. she is a great eater. i love this phase where the kid will pretty much eat anything you give them.

getting toys is serious work |
-growth: it seems like she had a growth spurt lengthwise recently. at her recent appointment she was about 27.5 inches tall and 16.5lbs. she is in some 6 month clothes, and mostly 6-9 month, and a few 12 month size shirts. she still just has the two bottom teeth for now. thank goodness, haha.
-development: crawling, cruising, walking with assistance, clapping, starting to play games, she is in the phase of taking things apart, pulling things out of drawers, etc. she is very vocal. it seems like sometimes she mimics noises that we make. she tries to do whatever Z is doing.

oh hey |
-sleep: better! she doesn't sleep well if she is sick or teething, but generally she is taking two nice naps easily and falls asleep nicely in the evenings. she wakes up a number of times in the night but for the most part she has learned how to put herself back to sleep. if she wakes up and cries for awhile then i know she actually wants milk, and i can nurse her. but thank goodness she seems to be such a better sleeper than her big brother! phew! fingers crossed!
-temperament: same, still very headstrong and willful. persistent. pretty much just like Z. she is more cuddly though. she gives me kisses on her own now.

feeding herself some yogurt |
-likes: cuddling with mama and baba, playing with her brother, petting cats and dogs, taking baths, feeding herself, putting everything from the floor in her mouth, walking with her lion push toy
|
she was upset and being loud to let me know how upset she was |
|
somehow she was able to get a hold of a marker and was able to get the lid off and started chewing on it |
-dislikes: being rolled over by her brother, falling down, bonking her head, being left by herself for more than a second, being told no, strangers
