wow....um....

what a hiatus!  it seems when it's nice-ish in seattle, i'm not on the computer as much.  and i've been keeping myself busy traveling, diy'ing, organizing, spending time with family, etc.  i made this:
necklace holder
i made some jewelry with my friend, including this:
made and gobbled down some of these:
bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeno

also made some jam from peaches we got from california:
got myself some of these:
whipped up some of this:
blackberry lime bars
visited an old friend for some coffee:
one of the best places in seattle for coffee
rode on this:
ferris wheel in downtown seattle
started another diy project, renovating my old childhood dresser.  it was shiny and molasses colored with horrible brass pulls.  found some inspiration from the blog called California Callahans.  here is the before:
this was actually after sanding, so it already looks a bit better.  but just imagine it really shiny due to the varnish and hideous brass pulls from the 90's.
this is after primer, and paint, and adding paintable wall paper and painting some more:

close up of front of drawer with paintable wall paper to add texture

i still need to find some new pulls and install those and then find some moulding to put around the edge of the wallpaper.   then i'll find some paper to line the inside of the drawers with and cover with modge podge to harden and adhere.  can't wait!!!!!!!!!
i have decided that i want to change my living room up a bit, so i have a couple other pieces of furniture to paint.
anyone else have summer projects?

  1. You should check Hobby Lobby for drawer pulls- they have a ton and they're not super expensive. And I love that necklace you made!
