ok, so i haven't really posted directly about my photography business, so i wanted to take a moment to do so.  i started it a few years back and have been slowly building it, building my portfolio, gaining experience and all that.  it was challenging last year when z was little and needy, but this year so far has been booming!  and i love it.  i love taking the photos, looking through them and editing them, the wonderful reactions from my clients after i deliver their pictures to them.  i have been learning a lot about photography as a business, and am still learning and putting new ideas into place. i also am trying to figure out how to run my business using the concept that work is worship.  this is a concept from the Bahai Faith, which guides my life.  first, it is stated that everyone must engage in a profession (this includes raising children and homemaking!).  the important part of work as worship is intent, so when performed in the spirit of service, when we focus our energies on perfecting it, with pure motives and the will to do service to humanity, it is counted as a form of worship and can draw us closer to God.  so, i'm working on how to take that concept and turn it into action.  i have a few ideas so far.  anyway, my photography services are for hire!  just a quick intro, i started practicing photography in high school, with film! and have always had a passion for it.  a few years ago i took a lot of time to re-learn the basics of photography and then just practiced alllll the time to get the feel of my dslr, different lenses and lighting, etc.  then with the encouragement of friends and family i started the biz, and began to build my portfolio.  i feel very comfortable now and have had lots of experience shooting in different places, different occasions, light, subjects, etc.  i mainly shoot portrait sessions like engagement, newborn, families and have been getting more and more into weddings.  i worked on putting up a website earlier this year, and my blog is still up.  the website is foto-lumiere.com, check it out there are lots of wonderful photos and examples of my work, and the blog is foto-lumiere.blogspot.com which goes into a little more detail of many of the shoots i do.  i also have lots of fun new things planned for the future in terms of products and whatnot, so stay tuned!  oh, and i have to say a huuuuuge thank you to all of you that have been so supportive and encouraging and such great customers!  i really appreciate all of you and look forward to working together again.
