grout refresh

hey there.  so hubby and i had this long list of stuff to do around the house during the holiday break.  of course we only got to some of it.  but one of the things that was the most rewarding was touching up the grout in the downstairs bathroom.  we remodeled that bathroom ourselves back in late 2013, early 2014.  we had initially used a grout on the tile that was supposed to be some sort of poly product that didn't require sealing and wouldn't stain etc.  but, within a couple of months the previously white grout had completely changed to a yellow color and had some stains in some areas.  it looked so bad.  and we were so annoyed.  it has been on our list of to-do's forever and seemed relatively easy to do.  i had seen recommendations for grout pens and stuff.  we finally just grabbed one from lowe's.  i took it home and it was pretty easy to use.  it's almost like one of those metallic paint pens that you push the tip in when you need more paint to come out.  so it was just a matter of applying it just on the grout in a straight line.  it took less than an hour for our bathroom which is probably 30 square feet or less.  the pen covered 30 square feet, per it's directions, dried quickly and was less than $15.  i have yet to test its durability, since it's only been about a month.  hopefully it holds up.  but for now it looks sooooooooooooooooo much better!
