19 weeks
well! 19 weeks! a little over a week for the anatomy ultra sound. i can't wait to see our baby! and to find out if peanut is a little girl or boy. soexcitedsoexcitedsoexcited! i have so many plans after we find out!!!!!!!!!! this week was pretty uneventful, spent most of my time studying but did get to watch the superbowl and eat ridiculous amounts of smoked and grilled meats that hubs made.....mmmmmmm. i have finished most of my pregnancy books thus far, which is about 4 or so. i just ordered two more on my kindle on recommendation from a friend. they are Birthing From Within and Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Newborn, i've read about the Lamaze Method, which seems reasonable to me, and Hypnobirthing, which i'm not quite sure about yet, i think i'm going to get the CD and see how i like it. i signed us up for our childbirth classes which start in april and go until the end of may which will be perfect timing in order for me to focus on the end of the school quarter and finals.whew. i've narrowed down the nursery decor choices, so when we find out the gender we will just have to pick the one for boy or girl. i've had a few friends offer to give us some of their baby stuff that they don't need anymore, which is awesome! i love recycling baby stuffs. now, let's find out what is going on with the pregnancy:
How far along: 19 weeks
Size of baby: either the size of a large heirloom tomato or a mango, take your pick, about 6 or so inches long (!!!) and around 8.5 oz, and apparently baby's sensory development is exploding, the brain is designating specialized areas for the senses.
Total weight gain: still not sure, my scale says i weigh the same as i have for the past few weeks. maybe i'll find out next week at the doctor's office.
Maternity clothes: check
Gender: will find out on valentine's day
Movement: lots of movement and a few good jabs every now and then that startle me and make me jump
Sleep: mostly sleeping well, but hard to stay comfortable
What I miss: coffeeeeeeeeee
Cravings: still craving salty stuff, i totally did eat a bacon and blue cheeseburger from red mill last week and it was heavenly, also i've been craving oranges and other citrus (my tongue hurts now)
Symptoms: no headaches this week, so that's nice...but stuffiness, feeling big, shortness of breath, same old stuff
Best moment this week: watching superbowl with friends, feeling more and more of peanut's movements, visiting with out of town friends
uhhhhh, i think i am looking quite topoli in this picture, i must have gained all this week's weight in my face! |
