so over this past week we started working on z's room, hubs scraped the popcorn off the ceiling. he's got a method now, so it took much less time and looks much smoother than the nursery. we are starting to paint the walls, so hopefully over this weekend we can finish painting everything. for the past several days z has been crashing in the nursery on his big boy mattress. z has been sleeping pretty well on his big boy bed. the hard part is getting him to fall asleep by himself because he obviously doesn't want to stay in bed, so for now i'm just laying down with him til he falls asleep. once we get his room all finished and he moves back in then we will start working on getting him to fall asleep in his new bed on his own. any suggestions are welcome! i have been working on gathering art for the nursery and z's room and working on some other crafty projects. we were given some clothes for baby girl, so i have been washing those and putting them away in her closet and dresser since hubs put the dresser together this week. things are slowly coming together. i am moving slowly and have to take breaks a lot. oh, we got to hang out with our wonderful friends over the weekend and have maternity pictures taken. we did a very short session since z was running all over the place, but got some great shots. wooohoooo! thanks cale! baby girl is still moving around a lot. we have to get another ultra sound in a few days, so we get to see her again. we're just chugging along, getting bigger and more uncomfortable, the both of us! i have been thinking about labor and delivery alot. i can't decide if it's better or worse the second time around; better because maybe i am more prepared mentally and know what to expect (at least more than last time), or worse because i know what to expect, hahaha. i am so excited to meet our little girl, but at the same time i'm thinking about the hard work that it takes. obviously i have no idea what this labor will be like, but for sure i know it's no easy task! but now that i am putting away some of her clothes, and her nursery is coming together, this is all becoming more real, and more exciting. and a little daunting, but mostly exciting!

How far along: 33 weeks
Size of baby: the size of a pineapple, or honeydew melon, about 19 inches and 4.5 lbs, she is getting antibodies from me and her bones are hardening
Total weight gain: will find out for sure tomorrow, but probably around 26-28 lbs
Gender: girl
Movement: she feels like she is running out of room in there by the way she is moving, and of course she is so super active right when i'm trying to sleep
Sleep: has been bad, it takes me forever to fall asleep between the getting up to pee, the baby rolling around in there, heartburn and just generally being uncomfortable, and i'm so tired during the day
What I miss: just being able to move around without grunting, huffing and puffing, and pain
Cravings: i have been eating way less carbs than usual in an effort to keep my blood sugar below the requirements i was given, so i have been craving bread and bread-y type foods, when i do eat a piece of toast it's like heaven, oh and ice of course---chomping on crushed ice mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Symptoms: all of them, i don't want to complain because i am so thankful that we are both still healthy and hopefully baby is thriving
Best moment this week: spending time with friends and family
here are some of my fave maternity shots from our session:
and of course the comparison:
