25 weeks---happy naw ruz!!!

well hello there.  this post is later than i intended because things were supercrazy!  but i'm through with finals and on spring break now so i can get some of the rest of my life taken care of.  today is Naw Ruz which is the New Year celebration for Persians, and also in the Baha'i Faith.  so last night we had a wonderful celebration and today hubby is at home and we ate kebob together, so that's been really nice.  so happy Naw Ruz to all my wonderful friends!  over the weekend our friends stopped by with their little girl who is about 4.5 months old and they came with gifts!  books and creams and this cute little glow-worm type toy which i saw online and read that babies just love it.  so super sweet of them!  check out this cute guy, it's a seahorse and it plays music, apparently it's for calming the baby down and/or when the little one goes to sleep:
so soft and fuzzy!  thanks dave, jesse & amelia!!!!
and one of my other friends made us this most amazing gift:
old man cardigan!!!!!!!!!!!!! and matching hat!!!!!!  isn't this the best??!!!  thanks melissa!!!
i love love love this sweater.  because i love "old man cardigans" as my hubby calls them and am so excited to dress my baby boy up in lots of old man sweaters.  yay!  aaaaaaaaand some of our other friends gave us a box full of baby boy clothes.  wooohoooo!  i love recycling baby clothes, so thanks M family!
so, this last week of pregnancy has been an interesting one.  because baby is growing so much, and i am growing so much, i'm experiencing growing pains.  my hips and lower back are very sore and achy, especially since i was sitting so much studying and writing papers and all that.  and i was suuuuuper tired.  but now that finals are over i actually feel better, although the hip and back pain are still present, but just not as bad.  other than that i feel great and am ready to get some stuff done that i've been dying to do such as: read more books (about baby but also some spiritually uplifting books as well), make crib skirt and quilt for crib, go through and purge my clothes closet, see friends and family, the list goes on and on.  anyway, here is the last week's preggie info:

How far along: 25 weeks
Size of baby: the size of a an eggplant, or a head of cauliflower!  somewhere between 13-14 inches or so and about 1.5-2 lbs, baby has a sense of equilibrium so can sense up and down, growing more fat and growing lots of hair (this kid will be hairy, i can guarantee it), bones are hardening and nostrils are opening up....and lots of other development
Total weight gain: still up about 16 lbs

Maternity clothes: mixing maternity and regular

Gender: still a boy

Movement: yup, he's on a schedule and is often most active when i'm going to sleep, i saw this last week a wave of movement across my belly as he did a somersault or whatever across my abdomen, that was crazy

Sleep: still pretty good for the most part

What I miss: not much, but i was thinking the other day about having a flat(-ish) stomach again and how weird it is that i'm so used to this big belly in front of me full of a kicking, squirming baby

Cravings: any kind of food (mostly), i want to eat ALL THE TIME, and i can only eat a little bit at a time, so it's hard to control myself and not eat lots of food in one sitting, i just want to keep eating and eating.  this is unlike me, normally i eat til i'm full and i stop, but now i want to eat even after i'm uncomfortably full.

Symptoms: all the same stuff

Best moment this week: getting through finals, celebrating Naw Ruz with wonderful people, seeing the interaction between my hubby and my son (squeeeee so cute! my hubby is going to be an awesome dad!), eating a dick's cheeseburger and fries (if you are not from seattle, you likely won't understand, but mmmmmmmmmmmm!) after my brutal ochem final!
