26 weeks

spring break!  woohoooo! but it's only a week, so i have to get everything done in that time.  and i'm addicted to watching parks and recreation right now.  so far, my mom and i made the crib skirt and the crib blanket and they turned out pretty well considering that we both haven't sewn anything in many many years.  i am trying to find a yellow chevron rug to put in the nursery along with a gray knit ottoman.  i'm slowly starting to get the nursery decorated, or at least looking around at various items with which to decorate the nursery.  i found the ottoman i want to buy at cb2 which is a crate and barrel website:
and then here is the rug i was looking at:
this is the blanket that my mom and i made (mostly my mom!)

and here is a picture of the crib with crib skirt, and i also added a gray chevron sheet, do you think that the chevron sheet is too much with the pattern on the crib skirt?
a few days ago i saw the midwife and everything is normal and all good, got to hear the heartbeat which is always wonderful.  this week i need to take my glucose challenge test.  hope it goes well!  here is this week's update:

 How far along: 26 weeks
Size of baby: the size of a head of lettuce or an english cucumber which seem like two very different sized things but whatever, the baby is about 13.6-14.8 inches,  lots of brain development will continue to happen til baby is born, eyelashes are grown in now, eyes will likely open soon, and he's getting antibodies from me at this point.
Total weight gain: so, when i went to the midwife i was up 13 lbs, but it's always up or down a few lbs, and midwife said that the weight that i've gained so far is right on

Maternity clothes: mixing maternity and regular

Gender: still a boy

Movement: lots!  especially when i want to sleep :)  and i can feel bigger across-my-belly movements more often  now

Sleep: mmmmm sleep....it's good!

What I miss: being able to take something like excedrin when i have a headache for 4 days (that happened this last week, stupid headache would not go away!)

Cravings: every food.  especially donuts right now! and oranges still

Symptoms: same as usual, nothing really new right now, oh except occasional heartburn but that has happened only a few times

Best moment this week: taking some time to relax but also get stuff done on my list, hearing little buddy's heartbeat, working on the blanket and crib skirt with my momma!

  1. I'm all for the chevron sheet--I think the gray chevron on the sheet looks great with the pattern on the crib skirt! Loving graphic patterns and the colors you've chosen.
