busyboard

so i'm in the middle of a few projects right now, and i just finished the easiest and quickest one, which was a busyboard for z.  a busyboard is basically a board that has latches and locks and doors and similar things that the child can maneuver.  i saw one from melissa and doug, which is one of my favorite toy manufacturers, but i figured i could make one myself.  so z and i went to lowe's, picked up a board and some different kinds of latches and whatnot.  i brought everything home, sanded and painted the board and then screwed everything on.  it's been assembled for a couple of days and z isn't super interested in it compared to his other toys, but i'm confident that he will have more fun with it as time goes on and he spends more time with it, it's still a little bit advanced for him.  but he liked playing with the chains and velcro that i attached to it.  hahahaha. i'm considering hanging it on the wall in his little activity corner, i haven't quite decided yet, but i think it would work well there.

so that's it for now.  hopefully i can finish up my other projects in the next week or so.
