26 weeks baby 2.0

another week closer to the end of summer, sad.  i have been thinking about what in the world i am going to do with z when it is too rainy or cold to go outside everyday.  we have a pass to the children's museum near us, so that will definitely come in handy.  i'll have to check out some other options as well.  because, he's just not the 'sit in the house and play with toys' kind of kid, at least not longer than an hour tops.  i imagine we'll be going on lots of walks, too.  anyway, this past week has been busy again.  we visited with family and went to dinner with friends.  at a restaurant.  with z.  he was kind of a wreck.  usually he's manageable, but this time he was not.  until we went and got ice cream at our favorite, mollie moon's afterwards.  then he was cool.  man, this toddler business is challenging!  a few days ago, my mom watched z so that i could go to lunch with two of my favorite girls.  we went to tropicos breeze in seattle, which is an el salvadorian restaurant and is one of my favorites.  the pupusas are to die for.  this time i also ordered their sopa de pollo, which was delicious. it was so great to get away for a couple hours and hang out with my buddies.  i had two photo shoots for clients, then wednesday was my birthday.  36 y'all.  i can't believe it.  my folks watched z that night, thanks mom and dad!, and we and the hubs went out for dinner along with some friends.  we went to the chinese hotpot place that i heart and ate until we couldn't move.  then got ice cream at mollie moon's again. mmmmmmm.  it was a fab night.  this week i have been feeling extra sluggish and fatigued.  i read that baby is putting on a good amount of fat right now, so maybe that's why?  my belly feels much harder to hold up and lug around these days, and i can't believe that i will get so much bigger and heavier.  so this has made anything that involves moving hard to do.  bending is laughable.  putting my shoes on (the ones that have any kind of laces or buckles) makes me out of breath and sweaty.  it's too funny, nowadays when z bends down to grab something or put his shoe on or whatever, he grunts and huffs and puffs like i do.  it is getting harder to pick up z and give him a bath and any/all of that kind of stuff.  these next 3 months will be interesting.  i kind of imagine myself just sitting on the couch with a long grabber thingy in my hand, training z to get me some water, barely moving.  haha.  we'll see.  anyway, baby continues to grow, and move, and her movements are now belly-spanning.  she seems to kick out a foot or something every now and then and i can feel more movement that seems to me to be her head or bum moving across my belly.  looking at the 26 week pregnancy picture with z, it seems like i am bigger now, or maybe just carrying her lower than with z, but my belly definitely looks like it is more round and out there this time around.  i am at the stage now where my stomach gets full before my mind gets the message that there is no more room, and so i have been eating to the point of being uncomfortable.  i am trying to be very aware of eating smaller portions at one time and then eating again a little later if i still feel hungry.  besides just feeling like my belly is stretched to the max right now, i don't really have any really annoying preggie symptoms.  i have been getting heartburn more frequently, and what's weird is that if i lay on my right side, it is really bad, and if i lay on my left side, it tends to go away.  strange, huh?  but luckily, i don't really have lots of swelling in my hands and feet like i did when pregnant with z, towards the end.  i am sure that will happen towards the end of this pregnancy, but maybe it won't be as bad since it will be late fall.  i am so excited to go to the second ultra sound appointment in a couple weeks to see my little one again.  and confirm that she is in fact a girl, haha.  then after that i will feel comfortable moving forward with all the nursery prep.  and purchasing of adorable outfits.  i haven't bought anything for her yet, just in case!  but soon!

How far along: 26 weeks
Size of baby: the size of an eggplant, still gaining fat, lungs developing, eyes are starting to open now
Total weight gain: not sure, probably 15-16 lbs, my scale said i am up 20 lbs but i don't think that is accurate
Gender: girl, i'm sure of it
Movement: lots more big movements and quick jabs, oh and a fair amount of bouncing on my cervix
Sleep: most of the time i sleep well, i've got my body pillow and fan
What I miss: moving around without getting winded or having to sit down
Cravings: all the foods.  all the fruits, salty crackers, bread, cheese, popsicles, peanut butter, if i had it around i would eat ice cream and cake/cookie products all day but thank goodness we don't have a stock of it in the house, chocolatey things, cereal, i guess a lot of carbs.  should probably eat more veggies
Symptoms: feeling large, heavy, shortness of breath, back pain, fatigue easily, but my skin looks great and when i have my hair down, it looks pretty good, too!
Best moments this week: taking some time to spend with friends and hubs without the toddler (sorry, z, no offense), eating some delicious meals, getting mollie moon's twice!!!  oh!  and this isn't pregnancy related, but i finally finally finally was able to track down this light from world market in seattle that i have been pining over forEVER for our bedroom.  i am so excited!  it's this one:
