Ava's 1st birthday parties

so we had two birthday parties for little miss Ava; one at our house the week before her actual birthday and one in Cali at my in-law's house on her actual birthday.  it was tricky planning the one at our house; we wanted to invite all our friends and family but since it was november, we had space limitations.  we didn't really have to worry about that with z's birthday parties since we usually just have everyone outside since it's in july.  but anyway, we did it and i think this is the last biggish birthday party we will do for the kids, haha, we are done.  but it was great, we got to see some friends and family and watch our little one eat her first cupcake.  in the planning stages, i was trying to come up with some sort of cute theme (for z's first birthday we did little man mustache bash).  but it's a little challenging for the first birthday because the kid is usually not really into anything that much yet.  so, i thought about it, and decided since it's fall/november, i would take advantage of that and do a "little pumpkin" party, "our little pumpkin is one".  and it turned out cute, if i can say that.  i had fun with the decorations.  i actually didn't take that many pictures, because it was so busy, but there are a few.  we had a chili bar, pies, hot apple cider, apple spice cupcakes and a bunch of other foods and desserts.  so thank you to everyone that celebrated with us!

then, in cali my in-laws threw a party that was basically a pre-thanksgiving thanksgiving dinner.  and then we ate cake and did presents.  both celebrations were great and i can't believe my baby is one!
