listen up!

so, to move away from the craziness of the political situation in the country.  and to continue with my "things that i'm excited about" posts.  here is another.

PODCASTS!!!!!!!!

what??!!!!  why didn't i realize this sooner??!!!  did i mention that i'm a little slow?

i mean, i typically enjoy listening to some kinds of talk radio; NPR, This American Life, Radio Lab, A Prairie Home Companion, etc.

but, recently hubby suggested a podcast called "How I Built It".  it was the one about the mama who built a giant blow drying service empire.  genius.  and then i was hooked.  and then i listened to the one about how instagram got started.  and then i started searching for other podcasts that i may enjoy. i don't have that much free time to listen to podcasts, but if we are driving or if i'm cooking dinner or cleaning then i will listen.  it's the best!

so far, these are my faves:

How I Built This interviews entrepreneurs and innovators and lets them tell the story of how their vision came about.  it's so interesting.  and inspiring.  and motivating.

Young House Love Has A Podcast this married couple started with a blog several years ago when they bought a house, to keep their friends and family updated on their upcoming kitchen remodel, and then it exploded into an extremely popular home DIY blog.  they are funny and charming and they had no experience in home improvement DIY's, so it's very relatable.  they now have some merchandise that they design in various stores and other such projects.  and now they have a podcast! i heart these guys.

Parenting Beyond Discipline this mama is a clinical psychologist who specializes in child development and family dynamics.  she gives guidance on parenting using positive discipline on the podcast and her website is full of classes and resources for a positive parenting style.  i have just been listening to her podcast for a couple weeks but i realllllllly like it.  so informative and helpful if you're looking for tips on how to parent using positive discipline.

Bahai Blogcast with Rainn Wilson  you know, Dwight from The Office?  well, he's a Baha'i.  and he interviews other Bahai's to talk about their spiritual journey, and what they are up to.  it's great to listen to whether you are a member of the Baha'i Faith or not.

that's all i have listened to so far.  what podcasts do y'all listen to?
