hello there! sorry it has been a minute since i have updated this blog. life is busy! we have been slowly working on some projects around the house still. one of the main things we wanted to get done was to replace the old carpeting. i'm not sure when the carpet was last replaced, but the previous owners had some cats, and smoked cigars or a pipe i think, so the carpets really needed to be ripped out. not to mention, the carpet in the family room was quickly changing from an off-white to a brown color thanks to the kids and the many coffee and tea spills from the adults. we went back and forth between just re-carpeting the family room, or the whole downstairs which would include the family room and the front living room, or the whole house. after we checked out the deals at lowe's, we just decided to go for the whole thing knowing that we would probably replace the family room carpet again at some point. so anyway, we took home a carpet sample thing and pretty quickly decided what we wanted. we went for a beigy-gray that is not too light or dark and not too cool or warm. and the carpet has a little square texture pattern in it. we went with a mid-level quality but upgraded the carpet pad so it's a nice squishy vapor barrier covered memory foam. the install went great and i was amazed at how nice the carpet felt under my feet. and it looks sooooooo much better, so clean and unblemished, haha. so---one more major project out of the way! about 72 more to go, hahahahah boohoo hooo.
