A few of my favorites
guys. i wanted to share a few of my favorite products right now because they have been soooo awesome!
1. Williams Sonoma Nonstick Classic Spatula

the reviews on this are not that great because a lot of people have experienced the spatula breaking where the handle and spatula part meet. hopefully that doesn't happen because i love this spatula! it is heat resistant up to 500 degrees, and the spatula part is rigid and not flexible. i like this because if the spatula is flexible, you can't properly flip pancakes and stuff like that. also, the tip is thin and not sharp, but a little sharp? does that make sense? it's not going to cut you, but it has a little bit of an edge, which i love because then you can properly flip an egg or other delicate food object. i really hope this spatula holds up because so far it is awesome. it is pricey, as far as i'm concerned, i think near $30, which i think is ridiculous for a spatula. but it really has all the features that i would prefer on a spatula.
2. Rev-a-Shelf Pull Out Basket--for kitchen cabinets

you can by these at lots of places, amazon, home depot, lowe's, wayfair, etc. but these are life changing. hahaha. yes that's dramatic. but seriously, in every kitchen i have ever been, the cabinets are stuffed with kitchen necessities (and sometimes non-necessities) and its contents are spilling out, stacked on top of each other, pushed back or in the corner. it's just not functional or easy to access. part of the solution is organizational including purging anything that is not needed or used but part of that is just that most kitchen cabinets are a big open space with maybe a shelf. when designers/architectures started making deep drawers to hold things like pots and pans, it made kitchens much easier to organize and much easier to access its contents. my in-laws have great storage in their kitchen like this; 2 deep drawers under their range that holds pots, pans and lids, and then another huge cabinet area with two large pull out shelves. it's so genius! no rummaging around in the back of the cabinet, pulling a million things out to get to one thing. i decided i wanted to have pull out shelves in my cabinets, too. but i can't have custom built cabinets right now, so the next best option is this pull out shelf or "basket" as rev-a-shelf calls it. i decided which cabinets i needed them in and how it would work. i realized that i would lose a little bit of actual storage space, but it would be much easier to access. so i measured a bunch of times and then ordered the ones that would fit. i ordered them through lowe's online since they didn't have all the sizes i needed in the store. but it was free shipping since we are mylowe's members. anyway, they are not too difficult to install. although they were a little annoying to install in my cabinets because they have a shelf right in the middle that you can't move and so there is just not a ton of wiggle room to get your hands in there. anyway, my father-in-law helped me install them and then i organized everything back in. IT IS SOOOOOO NICE! especially with my pots and pans and lids. i still have some stacked on top of one another, but at least i don't have to go halfway into the cabinet to pull out what i want, or pull out a heavy stack of pots to get the one i want. i just pull out the shelf! it really makes accessing items that are normally shoved to the back of the cabinet so much easier. a luxury? yes. but if you can get these, i would highly recommend it! they are not too pricey, are very sturdy and roll in and out very smoothly. oh and they come in a bunch of different sizes.
3. Stugvik, shower basket with suction cup
https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50249381/
these were recommended by young house love, of course, my favorite diy bloggers. apparently these stay on the wall of the shower like nothing else. i wanted to try it out. because in our master bath shower, we had this crusty old plastic basket that held some shower products, but not everything. i wanted to find a better option because not only was the basket gross, it just wasn't functional. it held some products, and then other products were just sitting on the floor of the shower. and i'm not a hug fan of the over-the shower-head storage options. i find they don't stay well, they slide down the neck of the shower head thing, and often times the big shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles we get don't fit nicely in there. so i picked 2 of these up when i went to ikea recently. they were super easy to install, and once the suction cups are placed on the shower wall, you tighten the handle on the front of each suction cup, and i think it removes the air so that the suction cup is completely flat against the wall. it's been a few weeks and these things have not budged. and we have two huge shampoo and conditioner bottles in one of them, which is quite heavy. i'm thoroughly impressed. our shower wall is a fiber glass insert, so probably easier to stick to than something like a travertine tile, but i would bet that these stick pretty well to tile, too. i would give it a try. oh, and they are like $9 each.
