22 weeks and nursery

this last week has been crazy.  my parents-in-law and sister-in-law were in town, which was wonderful, so we got to spend lots of time with them.  they are super-duper amazing and we all went nursery furniture shopping, then came home and had a nurser-furniture-assembling party.  we pretty much got the basics of the nursery set up in a day.  so that was awesome.  of course, they all came with gifts for the little moosh, clothes and blankets and things.  my mother in law knitted a beautiful blanket and hat and is working on more stuff.  wooohooo!  i looooooove home made stuffs!  i also had to study big time for my ochem midterm, which i took today.  i'm pretty sure it killed me, rather than me killing it.  blech.  still have a paper to write for geography of health class, should probably get started on that since it's due on friday.  but on a happier note, yesterday marked the start of Ayyam-i-Ha, which for Bahais worldwide is a 5 day celebration before our 19 day fast (not 19 days of fasting, but 19 days of fasting during the day, sun up to sun down).  this celebration period is full of food, prayer, gift giving and service to the community.  yay!  i obviously won't be fasting this year, preggers are exempt (along with breastfeeding mamas, seniors, children, and anyone with health issues) but will plan on doing something special during the fast like reciting a specific prayer, and/or cutting out certain food (like all the sweets) in order to focus on rejuvenating my spirit.  anyway, the celebrations are always fun, so i'm excited about that!
so, as far as the nursery goes, we have the basics in there, and eventually it will be filled with all the needed baby stuffs and decorations, etc.  we still have some organizing to do, but i can spend the next 4 months taking care of all that.  it's nice to just have the skeleton of the nursery together.  hehe.  and it's a nursery/office space, so baby will have to share.  anyway, here are some of the things we set up:

got some organizy boxes for the dresser, i think it will make it easy to organize bub's clothes this way

dresser, wire organizer thingy which will hold diapers, supplies, etc

crib! and nightstand next to the rocker

How far along: 22 weeks
Size of baby: about the size of a papaya, around 11 inches long, and near 1 lb, still developing senses, grabbing onto his umbilical cord and whatnot since the baby's sense of touch is more developed now, reproductive system is developing, the little guy looks like a mini version of his newborn self at this point
Total weight gain: up about 10 lbs

Maternity clothes: thank goodness for them

Gender: little boy monkey!

Movement: everyday.  his movements are getting stronger as he gets bigger

Sleep: so good

What I miss: nothing of note

Cravings: everything!  salty, sweet, tart, sour, acidic, whatever.  i'm trying to control myself.  i find i'm craving bad stuff (chocolate, potato chips, etc) when i'm hungry, so usually if i just eat something then that craving will go away, or at least i can justify eating it if i've already eaten something healthy and filling.  did you know that 12 potato chips have 150 calories?

Symptoms: still getting over my cold, sensation of my ribs pulling apart when i eat (usually when i eat too much, must learn how to eat smaller meals, more often), had some back spasms, all other symptoms are the same as always

Best moment this week: spending time with my family, both on my side and my in-laws, working on the nursery, being conscious of taking time to bond with my bub each day even for a few minutes, singing and talking to him, feeling his movements in ma bellay, it's my favorite!
