day 4 wasn't super productive, but we had to go to lowe's AGAIN (notice a recurring theme?) to pick up paint samples and a few other supplies. we sanded down the drywall patches, taped the ceiling line and put texture on the wall where we did the repairs. and this time around i grabbed 4 samples of paint. i looked for some that were a little more muddy so that they were a little less bright on the wall. and i wanted something that was a little lighter than the stuff i had already. so up went the samples. and after a little while i decided on the color, hubby ran to lowe's (5th time in as many days) and today we are painting the bathroom. wooohooo. here's the action:

so here are the paint color options. on the left is the original light blue color that i chose, that i decided was too vibrant for this small space. and then the swatches on the right are the 4 i picked up yesterday. they look very different on the wall than the how they look in the can , or even the color swatch card. they are all very light/pale bluish green colors but read very gray on the wall. |
the photo below shows how different the colors look on the wall compared to the swatches, they are aligned next to their respective virtual swatches:

so, after staring at them for awhile, walking away and staring some more i decided the top color has too much of a purple undertone, the second one is a little too mossy green, and the fourth one is too dark for this room, which left the third one. although i reallly like the fourth one (this picture doesn't do it justice) so hopefully i can use it somewhere else in the house.
anyway so then hubby picked up a gallon and we started to paint. this is after the first coat:

we will finish painting today and probably take a break tomorrow and then pickup with installing the cement board in preparation for tiling!
