pinterest challenge update
a little while ago i set a pinterest challenge for myself so that i could actually make one of the things that i pinned. and since the one i chose was pretty quick and easy i was able to tackle it while Z chilled on the floor next to me. here is how it turned out:
i chose to paint the inside of some clear glass vases since i wanted to put something like that on the cabinet that i just finished. so, when i was at michael's last week i picked up three small vases, i think they cost me about $7 total, and some paint:
i cleaned the inside of the vases with rubbing alcohol, and then i squirted some paint directly into the first vase, and then added a little water to thin it enough so that i could swirl the paint around the vase to cover the inside. i then poured out the paint into the second vase and added some white paint to make it a lighter cover and did the same with the third vase.
i poured out the excess, wiped the top off and dried them upside down:
they dried pretty quickly, so i was able to put them on the cabinet for decoration. since it is acrylic paint that is washable with soap and water, i don't think it is permanent enough to add water and flowers, but i like them just for decoration. the insides are pretty and blue and the outside is nice and shiny. so that's it. pretty simple, and all for about $12! what about y'all? have you done any fun crafty stuff lately?
