15 weeks
week 15! school started up again yesterday, this quarter is going to be busy, but hopefully i'll get to learn some useful molecular biology lab techniques to take with me after graduation. one quarter closer. to graduation and to the arrival of baby! lets see, since last week i've been looking at nursery stuff online, colors and decorations i prefer depending on gender of baby. crib bedding is awfully expensive, at least for the style and prints that i like so i'm hoping that i can order fabric and my mom and i can whip up a blanket and crib skirt (thanks pinterest!). i've also been flirting with the idea of getting a bob stroller but decided against it after i saw the britax and how compact it folds up. i now shamelessly check out strollers while walking around and ask mothers how they like their brand of stroller. hahahah! oh man. i feel so scattered right now, there's so much to be done as far as preparing our homes for baby as well as my own physical and mental preparation for a healthy, natural labor on top of school and life in general. and time is going to fly by, as it does every quarter of school. it may seem that i'm preparing for baby too early, but historically, each school quarter is so busy as it is and i just wonder how i can fit in everything that needs to be done for baby. oh well, i'm sure it'll work out just fine and i'm thankful to have wonderful friends and family who i'm sure would be willing to help me if needed. anyway, enough of the rambling. so, here is the preggie progress this week:
i seriously laughed when i saw this picture and said to hubs, "this is what i look like?!"
How far along: 15 weeks
Size of baby: one app says apple while another app says orange, but either way lil peanut is about 4 inches long and 2.5 ounces, the legs are growing longer, baby can sense light, taste buds are forming, the bones are ossifying, muscles are strengthening and baby is gaining weight!
Total weight gain: still not quite sure, my scale is crazy...as far as it's concerned i haven't gained any weight which clearly is false. i'll find out when i go to the midwife's appointment next week
Maternity clothes: bouncing between my regular pants that have always been a bit bigger on me, maternity pants and leggings, still wearing my regular shirts for now
Gender: will find out on valentine's day
Movement: lots, although i can only feel small flutterings every now and then...i read that around 16-18 weeks is when the mamas really start to feel frequent movement
Sleep: sometimes good, sometimes not
What I miss: nothing much this week
Cravings: salty stuff like popcorn and salted almonds, really want to eat the see's truffles that are sitting on my counter but too much sugar triggers migraines for me :(
Symptoms: migraines, a little shortness of breath, dizziness when i stand up too fast (or if i don't eat regularly), but nothing too bad thank goodness!
Best moment this week: hubby rubbing my belly and saying hi to peanut, washing and putting away a few of hubby's baby clothes that my mother in law gave to us!!! oh, and getting into the biology lab class that i've been trying to get into for 5 quarters now. wooohooo!
