28 weeks! welcome to the third trimester!

wow.  third trimester, people!  just 3 short months and i will have a baby boy!  as i enter into the third trimester, there are some more typical pregnancy symptoms i'm experiencing; my belly button is now very flat and i expect that it will start popping out in the next week or so; i'm much more tired; it takes longer for me to do things (like walk, or think); i'm ridiculously klutzy (more than usual); it takes me awhile to get comfortable when i sleep, or do anything for that matter; i have to pee-ALL THE TIME and now have to get up a few times during the night; and i'm experiencing random aches and pains here and there.  this past week was the first of the spring quarter at university and my hubs and i are looking into buying a house.  things are very stressful around here.  baby showers are being planned and hubs and i finally went through and added stuff to our baby registry.  my life has been nothing but house hunting and pre-approval requesting and obsessively checking new listings (the real estate market in seattle is crazy right now and there is not very much inventory in our price range to choose from, and what is available gets snatched up so quickly and likely above the asking price---yikes!).  but, i am trying to also stay as detached as i can and just have faith that we will find a place to buy or rent either way and we will be just fine.  apparently babies don't need a lot in the beginning besides milk, clothes, diapers and mama!  in more exciting news (for me), i decided on the carrier i would like for my bebe, it's the boba and i heart it!  i have done soooooooooo much research on carriers and although i like the ergo and have heard so many positive reviews online and from friends, i really can't get over the fact that the baby can't face forward in it.  i really think that my boy will want to be outward facing at some point so he can see everything that's going on in the world.  i have a feeling that's the kind of kid he'll be.  so, i choose boba.  it supports the baby similarly to the way ergo does (it's not a "crotch dangler" as they call other ones), it supports their spine and hip position, can accommodate children from infant to 45 lbs, doesn't require an infant insert (love this!) and has foot straps for the older kids that will help keep them in a comfortable position.  oh----and!  it has some pockets, including a pocket in the front that holds the privacy hood.  i was looking at another great carrier, but it didn't have a privacy hood.  so, i'm pretty excited about this carrier. now i just have to decide between these two styles, what do you think?
Boba Carrier 3G
the gray one is very universal, i love gray and hubby would not be hesitant to use it.  the patterned one (called tweet) is super cute, but you know, it's patterned.  i'm not sure if i would get tired of it or not, and hubby would probably fuss a little if he had to wear it.  what do you guys think?

oh, and i just read that boba (and lots of other resources) don't recommend carrying a baby facing out because it doesn't support his hips and spine properly.  hmmmph.

i also finally chose a rug for the nursery and got it today!  i couldn't decide between gray, blue or yellow chevron but i finally decided on yellow since it will brighten the room up a bit:

i really like it!  i think i'm going to order the gray knit ottoman as well.
ok, so here is the pregnancy update:
feeling large and in charge nowadays
How far along: 28 weeks---now into the final trimester!
Size of baby: small cabbage, eggplant, head of lettuce....whatever, he's about 14.8 inches or so and 2.25 lbs.  he can open his eyes and may be able to sense light (there is no light in seattle, who am i kidding?), he's growing white fat and developing billions of neurons
Total weight gain: about 18-20 lbs

Maternity clothes: mixing maternity and regular although my regular shirts are barely covering my belly now

Gender: boyboyboy

Movement: all the time, with much more force!  i have been waking up a few times at night to go to the bathroom and i notice that he pretty much is active and moving around all night long

Sleep: varies; some nights i sleep so well, others i don't and it is always difficult to get comfortable

What I miss: not feeling exhausted

Cravings: not craving oranges anymore and haven't had a donut for many days now, i just want to eat lots and lots of any kind of food, and it's probably a good thing i can't have much dairy otherwise i would be eating pint after pint of some ben and jerry's....oh!  i did go to trader joe's and buy some chocolate covered caramels after hearing a commercial for them on the radio, and they are delicious!

Symptoms: mentioned some above, also have been getting heartburn more frequently, and an overall feeling of bigness

Best moment this week:  hmmmm....this week has been crazy, let's see....spending time with my wonderful friend tia and her boy jasper, that was great, and i really enjoyed watching hubby play with jasper (he's 2 1/2) and seeing the joy it brought him
