30 weeks

i can't believe that in 10 weeks i will have a son.  or maybe even sooner.  or possibly later.  10 more weeeeeks!  i look like i'm 9 months pregnant already.  so time is going quickly.  and i'm getting bigger and baby is getting bigger.  it's good.  the baby is kicking sooooo much, moving around and flipping like crazy.  it's to the point now that other people can see my belly moving from across a room.  and strangers ask me questions regarding the pregnancy.  we had our first birthing class last week.  it was alright.  mostly stuff that i already have read or learned about.  but we did some breathing and focusing exercises that were very helpful.  we are still looking for a house to buy, but hopefully we can find something in seattle and we don't have such a short timeframe now.  so that makes life a little less stressful.  over the weekend hubby and i celebrated a holy day called Ridvan with our Baha'i community, and that's always fun.  we also got to see our very dear friends and their new baby girl.  she's beautiful, of course and so tiny and it was so much fun to hold her and hear about the delivery and all that.  another super exciting thing that happened this week is that we got our travel system delivered.  yay!  it's a britax stroller and car seat and they are awesome.  so, i'd like to geek out a little bit, if i may:

here is the car seat, it's supposed to be super safe and awesome, i still have to figure out how to install the base in the car and adjust the buckles and all that on the car seat

here it is with the canopy extended, i like that it has a nice big canopy

here is the stroller all folded up, it's so easy to fold and unfold and it's light compared to some of the other strollers that we were looking at

here is the stroller all unfolded, isn't it great?

i really like the extra large canopy, and the stroller has such a great turning radius!  hahaha, it's great

on the top of the canopy there's a little mesh peep window so i can see the baby when he's in there

this is the back, the back part can recline down almost all the way so baby can sleep

when the back is reclined down this flap that covers the back has a big pocket

and the flap can be rolled up to expose a large mesh window in the back

here is the entire travel system with the car seat clipped into the stroller, it's also really easy to clip the unclip the car seat into the stroller
anyway, so i'm really excited about it and can't wait to stroll the baby around when he's here.  thanks cousins and aunt for the awesome gift!
i am in the process of purchasing some of the things we need that i didn't want to register for like cloth diaper safe detergent, and that kind of stuff.  today i purchased a stainless steel step-open garbage can that will serve as the diaper pail with the waterproof liner that i had previously bought.  i also picked up this, i couldn't help it, and it was on sale:
i love dinosaurs
and i've been thinking about getting a mobile for above the baby's crib for sometime now, and i think i have narrowed it down to these options:

i can't decide which one i like, they are probably all pretty similar hhahahaha.  so. these are the things for this week.  now onto the pregnancy:

How far along: 30 weeks Size of baby: the size of a cabbage (a giant cabbage?  i don't think i've ever seen a cabbage that is 15 inches long, have you?); the baby is about 15.7 inches long and weights almost 3 lbs, his eyesight is continuing to develop, his bone marrow is producing red blood cells now, and his brain is getting wrinkly which is good, it means that his brain is growing
Total weight gain: 20-22 lbs
Maternity clothes: mixing maternity and regular, wearing maternity jeans about 99% of the time, still trying to wear my pre-preggie shirts but it's not going to long before i can't fit them so i bought a few large t-shirts and some tunics from target that were on super sale!  i hope that i don't have to buy anymore clothes for this pregnancy!
Gender: boy
Movement: this baby is going to be a soccer player, his kicks are so strong now, and of course he moves allllll the time when i'm sleeping, and several (predictable) times during the day, and the past couple times that people have been reciting prayers he's been really squirmy
Sleep: if i can get comfortable and shut my mind off then i sleep pretty well, otherwise sleep is hit or miss these days
What I miss: not having heartburn
Cravings: orange juice, desserts like cake and ice cream! i've also been craving carbs---sometimes i just need to eat bread!
Symptoms: still lots of not fun symptoms including new ones like leg cramps and lots more heartburn, and my belly button is completely flat, but i do have a good symptom----my skin has never looked this clear, so that's a plus!

Best moment this week:  seeing the new baby noosh, getting our travel system, seeing the sunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!  it's been sunny in seattle for 2 days now! celebrating Ridvan with friends
